David Bižić, baritone
Bizic’s career first garnered international attention in the role of Leporello in two criticaly aclaimed productions of Don Giovanni by Michael Haneke in Paris opera and Dmitry Tcherniakov in Aix en Provence Festival.
As an interpeter of Mozart roles, most notably Don Giovanni, Leporello, Almaviva and Figaro, he has preformed in Paris Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Los Angeles Opera, Teatro Real, Bolshoi Theater, Bordeaux, Geneve, Ravinia Festival, Valencia, Toulouse, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Montpellier, Rennes, Rouen, Aix en Provence Nantes and Strasbourg.
Other career highlights include his Metropolitan Opera debut as Albert in Werther, Albert in Royal Opera House, debut in Liceu as Puccini’s Lescaut, Marcello and Sharpless in Metropolitan Opera, Guglielmo in Paris Opera, Oneguine in Limoges, Metz and Tel Aviv, Enrico in Toulon
Opera, Zurga in Bordeaux and Escamillo in Tel Aviv and Stockholm Opera.
This season highlights: Marcello at the Met opera, Oneguine in Telaviv. Bizic was born in Belgrade, Serbia. He studied archaeology but at the same time he persued vocal singing education and in 2000 he started styding voice at the Rubin Academy for Music and Dance in Jerusalem with Bibiana Goldental. He later continued his education with IVAI International Vocal Arts Institute and aprenticed with the Israeli opera YAP and Paris Opera - Attelier Lyrique program.
Bizic is a winner of the second prize from the Operalia - Placido Domingo competition in 2007 and Paris Opera AROP prize for 2004.
